I share my story because when I had my abortion I was too ashamed to tell anyone. I hope sharing my story helps destigmatize abortion so no one has to go through it alone like I did.
Abortion Advice: Be gentle with yourself. Take it easy, find a support system and outlet for whatever your needs are. There's no right or wrong way to feel, react, or process your own experiences. So do you boo ♡
How I honor my abortion: I have honest, open, and intentional conversations about parenting with my partner. Having a planned pregnancy is the best way I can honor my abortion.
What I wish people knew about abortion: I wish people knew how to mind their own business while being compassionate towards all other people, especially those seeking abortion health care services.
What is your favorite abortion on film? I love Portrait of a Lady on Fire. It's a love story, including the unconditional support the female protagonists have for each other during an abortion. It is powerful to see on screen. In the film, abortion is natural and a part of parenting.
