I share my story because I spent years thinking my abortion was shameful and wrong. It wasn't! I hope that other abortion patients can hear my story and feel a little bit relieved, a little bit peaceful, a little bit seen and loved.

Abortion Advice: be patient with yourself! You may experience emotions that you weren't expecting after your abortion, and that's okay. Healing takes time.

How I honor my abortion: I honor my abortion by telling my story and getting involved in reproductive justice actions.

What I wish people knew about abortion: People who have later abortions deserve the same compassion and support that all people who have abortions deserve. Later abortions are no one's fault.

What is your favorite abortion movie?
The first time I watched Obvious Child, I think I cried for an hour straight. I had never ever seen abortion handled with so much kindness and grace. That movie has held a special place in my heart ever since.
